Thematic Maps
Thematic Maps are maps that highlight many features of an area including it's size, temperature, or acreage. There are many different types of thematic maps including isoline, choropleth, and dot distribution maps.

Dot Distribution Map: This type of map uses dots to represent a particular phenomenon.

Choropleth Map: This type of Map categorizes a certain variable into groups and depicts each group by different colors or patterns.
Proportional Symbol Map: This type of map uses symbols to show intensity or frequency. The size of the symbol varies with the frequency.
